Saying good bye can sometimes be a relief instead of an ache in your heart. As, I think back on this past year, I feel both emotions. I am relieved I survived and a bit pained to see the year come to an end. I realize this last year pushed me and made me step out of my comfort zone, I still feel a bit displaced by it all, but I know in time I'll be grateful. I am fortunate to have had so many good people around me that have made it all doable and have put up with me and provided me with so many laughs.
Pranking helped break some of the mundane moments out of 2011. One of my favorite things in this world is to go out pranking, nothing makes me laugh more. I feel bad for some of my victims, but I think most of them eventually end up laughing or crying ha ha. This last year my partner in crime and I stuffed a piƱata with water balloons, straws, tacos, and flour-we removed the candy that was its previous filling and found great use for the sweets. Poor folks we're stunned and likely disappointed when it's contents dropped out. We hung creepy baby dolls from their necks with fishing line from the door frames of our friends' homes and power boxed them, so the glowing doll eyes (we poked out some of the eyes and stuck toy cockroaches in them) would be the first to meet them in their flight as they ran outside to turn the power back on. Craigslist has been our friend, I am not sure how many things and people we've put up for sale on it this year or listed under the free column: Dairy cow, a baby's crib, and ya…by far I think our request for a traveling partner to go back in time was the most brilliant, I can't believe we had serious inquiries, but we did, well I use the term "we" loosely. We also had one of our friend's mom's go and pretend to be a ferret loving woman wanting to be new tenant in a house full of boys, wish we could have recorded that moment on camera. Some of our pranks I wouldn't dare say, I don't know that we would be forgiven of them all. I most definitely haven't escaped unscathed. I was told to go into my friend's family's house and make myself at home to only find out he sent me into his bishop's house, scared the family into calling the cops, memorable FHE for them and made a good story for the Bishop to tell from the pulpit that Sunday.
I will think of greater pranks to top off 2012, so beware, you my be our next greatest laugh. :)
